The Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur has set out to offer its guest gracious Malaysian hospitality as one of the hallmark features of this luxurious five-star hotel centrally located in Kuala Lumpur’s downtown business district.
The hotel is a mid-scale development with two towers rising five and 13 storey above the street. Most rooms have panoramic views of the Petronas Twin Towers, one of the world’s most identifiable landmarks. The architects have designed a u - shaped building that reflects the local architecture to provide guests with a truly Malaysian experience. While international standards and facilities are incorporated into its design there many features that use tropical building materials to showcase the local culture. Four large crafted rainforest trees adorn the internal supports to offer a tropical ambience that will appeal to those seeking a stimulating setting for special events such as cocktail receptions and dinners. Geography The Federation of Malaysia comprises Peninsular Malaysia which is made up of 13 states, the states of Sabah and Sarawak in the island of Borneo, 3 Federal Territories in Peninsular Malaysia and 1 Federal Territory in Labuan, Sabah. The capital of Malaysia is Kuala Lumpur and the government administrative centre is in Putrajaya. Language and Religion Malay language is the official language of the country and English is the second language. Most Malaysians are able to converse freely in both languages. The various ethnic groups also speak dialects and languages such as Mandarin, Tamil, Hokkien, Cantonese, Hakka, Teo Chew and Hindi. Islam is the official religion of the country but other religions are practised freely as provided by the constitution of Malaysia Climate Malaysia has a tropical climate with temperatures ranging from 21 °C to 32 °C. Humidity is high. Rain tends to occur between November to February on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The highlands of Malaysia have cooler climate due to their higher altitude and temperatures can range from 16 °C to 24 °C. Currency The currency of Malaysia is RINGGIT MALAYSIA. The denominations of RINGGIT MALAYSIA are RM100, RM50, RM10, RM5 and RM1. Coins are also widely used and the denominations are 50 sen, 20 sen, 10 sen, and 5 sen. Dress code Business or smart casual attire is recommended for all Congress sessions. Dress code for the Opening Ceremony, Welcome Reception and other Social Events is cocktail or business attire. Invitation letter If you require an invitation letter, please indicate this on your registration form or contact the Secretariat. Please note that this letter would not represent an official invitation covering fees or any other expenses, nor does it imply any financial support for attendance at the Congress. Visa Information Every person entering Malaysia must possess a valid National Passport or Internationally recognized Travel Document valid for travel to Malaysia . Any person not in possession of a Passport or Travel Document which is recognized by Malaysian Government must obtain a Document in lieu of Passport. Application for the Document in lieu of Passport can be made at any Malaysian Representative Office abroad. The documents shall be valid, for more than six (6) months from the date of entry into Malaysia.
