Dear Colleagues,
Greetings everybody,
Time certainly has passed by very quickly . MEMS will reach a mature age of 30 years
in 2011 and it looks like it will definitely survive for at least another 30 years. Many
have benefitted from successful series of post-graduate teaching programmes
conducted by MEMS over the years.The society has certainly made its mark in the field
of endocrinology.
In the last 3 decades , 5 wise gentlemen have been at the helm of MEMS, steering its
course to maintain “hormonal integrity”. Numerous achievements of senior members
have encouraged many junior clinicians and researchers to join the society , in the
quest for greater height in the understanding and management of endocrine and
metabolic disorders in this region.
The year 2011 will witness an exciting annual congress organized by MEMS themed
“Hormonal integrity from womb to tomb”. It will also capture historical moments of the
30th anniversary celebration of MEMS. As well as providing updates of various aspects
of endocrinology , the congress sets its heart to focus on issues surrounding transition
endocrinology with the intention to smoothen the transfer of medical care from
childhood / adolescence to adulthood . The congress will also provide special allocation
for clinical and basic science research presentations, during the primetime of the
congress ; in order to inspire the younger generation to produce exemplary work in the
future.
On behalf of MAC 3 organising committee , it gives me great pleasure to welcome
everybody to MAC 3 from 19th May to 22nd May 2011. The event will take place in
the Royale Chulan Hotel Kuala Lumpur .
I sincerely hope that everybody will have a fruitful and enjoyable time at the congress.
